1995 - Last chance to see Oliver

Thanks go to Tony Lord for identifying this cutting as being from circa 1995.

He recognised himself in the picture and was also able to identify the teacher in the bottom right as Bruce Hicks, who was Head of Music.

OCR Transcript:

ST. MARY'S College in Crosby is in fine voice this week as pupils perform the musical 'Oliver.'

The performing arts department in the college gathered together a cast of around 55 pupils and staff in full costume, including two Olivers'

Musical director Bruce Hicks was hard pressed to chose between Nina Lundy and James Moorhouse for the leading role, so decided that so much talent should not go to waste, and both pupils have been playing Oliver. on alternate nights.

If you feel like catching a performance, then this could be your last chance - not just to see St. Mary's College perform it, but to see ''Oliver'' anywhere outside london, as a forthcoming production in the West End means a ban on the show in the rest of the country.

Your last chance to see this show is tonight. It marls at 7,30. and tickets are £3 for adults and £1.50 for children For further information ring the college on 924 3926.
