Two brothers from Hall Roud West head an impressive list of St. Mary's College pupils to have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

Sean Cochrane, aged 16, is set to study medicine at St. Edmund's College, Oxford, while older brother Charles (18) hopes to join him studying law at University College.

Sean is the youngest student in the St. Mary's upper sixth having taken ‘0' levels as young as 14, finally finishing with 10, all at grade ‘A' "He has done exceptionally well - but so have the other seven," said deputy head Mr Chris Clough.

Other Oxbridge-bound students, pictured with Sean and Charles, are Martin Mankabody (law at St. Anne's College Oxford), Robin McGhee (law at Merton College Oxford), Gary Ross (engineering at St. Catherine's College, Cambridge), Lesley Isaac (engineering at Robinson College, Cambridge), Aidan Norman (medicine at Downing College, Cambridge), Michael Whelan (medicine at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge).
