MEMBERS of the St. Mary’s College, Crosby, cross-country and rugby teams and the De La Salle College cross-country and rugby teams, together with schoolmasters and guests, attended a dinner in honour of the visitors at the Royal Hotel yesterday evening. On the menu. in honour of the Lancashire boys was “Lancashire hot-pot ”.
After the dinner, tributes were paid to both teams by the respective school coaches. Mr. John Sankey of De La Salle and Brother J. Sullivan, of St. Mary’s. Both rugby team captains and cross-country captains also spoke a few words about a particularly fine tour in which St. Mary’s were undefeated in two cross-country races and two rugby matches.
