Professor Michael Coleman |
Professor Michael Coleman (1972-1979) graduated from Liverpool University with first class honours in 1982 and received his Ph.D. in 1985. He spent two years in Washington D.C. at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and returned to Liverpool University in 1988. Since 1991 he has worked at Aston University in Birmingham and has produced over 100 scientific papers to date. He developed a method for reducing drug side effects in dermatology patients and has also researched the positive effects of antioxidants in diabetics. He is an editor for a toxicology Journal and the second edition of his textbook entitled Human drug metabolism: an introduction will be published in 2010. He was awarded his Doctorate of Science from Aston University in 2005 and his research team is currently developing experimental models of the most basic functions of the human brain.
